FINMA carries out so-called integrity testing before every new appointment. As part of this, an external partner checks the following applicant details for FINMA:
- Information provided in the CV, particularly personal details, education and work experience
- Details contained in the personal documents and concerning any work permits required
- Details of any previous convictions (extract from police records) and financial integrity (extract from the debt collection register)
- For high-level executive positions or particularly exposed supervisory roles: details of the candidate’s public presence on the internet
Candidates must consent in writing to this check being carried out. They may, however, ask to see the results of the test. Permanent appointment at FINMA is conditional upon a positive result. Further information about the integrity check can be found in the linked document.
