Communication / Media Relations (KOM)
The Communication / Media Relations staff unit (KOM) is responsible for informing media representatives, the general public and the SFBC’s partners about the commission’s tasks and objectives. It caters to the different information needs of the various interest groups and seeks to provide them with the necessary information as quickly and transparently as possible, using a wide range of communication means.
The SFBC’s primary official publication is its annual report. KOM is responsible for preparing and editing the annual report and accounts, which are then submitted to the Federal Council.
KOM’s duties also include answering queries addressed to the SFBC from a wide range of sources, such as banking clients, the banks themselves or foreign supervisory authorities, as well as handling complaints from bank clients. In so doing, the staff unit works closely together with the other departments, and especially with the Legal Department.
Furthermore KOM is responsible for internal communications. It ensures that all employees and the SFBC committee members always provide of all the relevant information necessary for performing their respective tasks.
The staff unit’s other duties include branding and ensuring compliance with corporate identity, as well as responsibility for the internet and intranet.
