Regulatory planning

As set out in Article 7 of the Financial Market Supervisory Act, FINMA ensures transparency in the regulatory process and appropriate involvement of the parties concerned.

The Guidelines on Financial Market Regulation (available in German, French and Italian) provide for prompt and regular dissemination of information on planned and ongoing regulatory projects. As a rule, FINMA also conducts public consultations on draft proposals and explanatory reports, which give interested parties the opportunity to express their opinion.

The content and status of the most important financial sector regulatory projects in which FINMA does not take a leading role are available on the FinWeb website.
