General Secretariat

The General Secretariat at FINMA facilitates all administrative matters for its Board of Directors and Executive Board. It ensures that their meetings run smoothly and develops the principles for monitoring the implementation of their decisions. The General Secretariat also cultivates FINMA's relations with the Swiss Federal Council, the Federal Department of Finance, the Federal Assembly and other political players. It is responsible for and coordinates FINMA's responses to political queries and is involved in FINMA's strategic planning.

The General Secretariat covers the whole range of communications-related tasks. It is therefore responsible for external communication (media and public enquiries, annual report, publications, PR, monitoring and reporting, website, corporate design and language services) and for internal communication (intranet, staff events and briefings, news service). It also formulates FINMA's communications policy and advises the Board of Directors and Executive Board on all aspects of public relations.
